Garden Promenade, Ottawa-Gatineau’s new garden attraction recently played host to the ever popular Canadian Tulip Festival and Garden Days this past May and June. High-summer momentum continues with Garden Party- a weekend of Garden events for the whole family to enjoy.

Dow’s Lake Garden-Party – Saturday, July 22
The Dow’s Lake Garden Party set for Saturday, July 22 from 10:00 am to 10:30 pm offering a wonderful assortment of free events and activities for families, friends and visitors in Ottawa all day – into evening long.

Extending beyond Dow’s Lake party goers can expect tours of Commissioners Park with Tina Liu – from that National Capital Commission – Official Gardeners (10am); explore Dominion Aboretum at Experimental Farm with talk radio gardening guru and author, Ed Lawrence (1 pm); or join Ed Lawrence for cocktails at Dows Lake Pavilion ( 4 pm). A day of face painting, ice cream and stories in the garden, giant Jenga games, flowers along the Boardwalk, stay-for-dinner specials and gardenlicious cocktails courtesy of the Dow’s Lake Pavilion restaurants, all culminate with evening fireworks at 9:30 pm followed by a special surprise that’s sure to be a huge crowd pleaser.

With some road closures anticipated to make for a total activity gardening experience, OC Transpo and Gray Line will be operating at full schedule with parking available at cost at Dow’s Lake Pavilion.

40 Gardens -70+ Garden Experiences
The Garden Promenade is a showcase of 40 gardens offering more than 70 unique garden experiences including the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage site, bicycle and pedestrian pathways, historical landmarks and attractions. Special garden attractions, artistic installations and themed events – all good reasons for you to come and explore our gardens.

Ottawa-Gatineau’s Garden Promenade offers three seasons of programming including garden guide service, self-guided itineraries, walking and cycling routes, amphibious & hop-on-hop-off bus tour convenience.

The Garden Promenade is a Canada 150 project led by the Canadian Garden Council in collaboration with Gardens Ottawa. Garden Promenade is supported by Landscape Ontario, Ontario 150, National Capital Commission, Tourism Outaouais, City of Gatineau as well as our hotel, restaurant and tourism partners who are listed at gardenpromenade.ca
